In mid 1998, I renewed my old interest in Chess variants, which had first been kindled by John Gollon's book. Serindipitously, Zillions of Games debuted shortly thereafter. This was a revolutionary new computer program that could play any strategy board game it was given rules, described in a Lisp-like programming language, and graphics for. I programmed several games for it, including many of my own creation, using Zillions not only to create an end product but for helping me playtest ideas for games. In 2001, I began to write some PHP scripts for playing Chess variants by email. This eventually evolved into Game Courier, a versatile online PBM system with its own programming language for automating games and enforcing rules. Like Zillions, it is open-ended and can be used for an infinite variety of games. Unlike Zillions, it is only for online play between people and will not provide any computerized opponents. This gallery covers some of the various games I have created and/or programmed for either Zillions or Game Courier. I have programmed several of my own games for both.

Since this gallery is selective rather than comprehensive, you can find out about more of the games I have programmed or created through the following links from the Chess Variant Pages and Zillions of Games websites.
